A University of Washington graduate, Sky Yang, has launched a digital marketplace for photographers, allowing customers to easily find and book professionals for special occasions. SnapMatePhoto, which started with a focus on connecting students with student photographers, now lists over 120 photographers in the Seattle area. The platform charges photographers 15% and clients 11% of payments, and has seen revenue grow from around $3,500 in its first month to nearly $7,500 in May. Yang, an amateur photographer himself, believes his business fills a need for people to have access to affordable, high-quality photography.
