The alleyway, located off Rodeo Drive, is typically a tourist destination, but at night it can be rented for private events. The cost of shutting down the street for an evening can reach $50,000 in fees, with additional expenses for security, insurance, food, and beverages. One couple, Shadi Hashemi, paid this amount for a 160-person welcome dinner in July, while another couple, Clarissa Tanoesoedibjo-Tjipto and Anthony Putra Tjiptodihardjo, paid around $35,000 for a smaller welcome dinner.
