At a Massachusetts wedding, a father-daughter dance featured a song recorded 40 years ago by Jorge Ferreira, the grandfather of the bride, Savannah. The song, “Papai”, was chosen by the bride for her dance with her father, and what made it special was that it featured the voice of Savannah’s own mother, who sang it as a child. The DJ, Andrew Dacosta, later reflected that the song was one he had played at many weddings, but this one was particularly meaningful. Ferreira himself was present at the wedding and complimented Dacosta on his skills.
