The dazzling – and scandalous – history of Princess Eugenie's wedding tiara

Princess Eugenie wore the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara on her wedding day, which was loaned to her by her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. The tiara has a rich history dating back over a century, belonging to Margaret Greville, a Scottish servant’s daughter who rose to prominence in Edwardian society. Margaret Greville accumulated a vast collection of jewels, including emeralds and diamonds, and her tiara features a 93.70-carat central emerald. The tiara was later passed down to Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, and was most recently worn by Queen Camilla at the Diplomatic Corps reception in 2025.
