A bride-to-be is searching for a new wedding venue after learning that the Plaza Hotel in New York City will be temporarily closed for a major restoration project starting in January. The hotel was to be the site of Christine Carney’s wedding on May 1, 2027, a plan that had been in place since April 2026. Carney and her fiancé had already paid for some of the wedding expenses, and now they face the challenge of finding a new venue and potentially changing the wedding date. Wedding planner Alyssa Pettinato says the couple must now “pivot to a new venue” and hope that vendors are available for the new date.
