The Plaza Hotel’s four-year closure has caught some couples off guard, including a bride who had booked the hotel for her May 1 wedding. Christine Carney had been planning her wedding at the Plaza since last April, but only learned about the closure through news reports. Her wedding planner will have to start planning from scratch, finding a new venue and vendors. The Plaza will close in January 2027 for restoration work on its landmark-protected facade.
