Older couples getting married but reluctant to hold ceremonies

Older couples in Japan are marrying but often hesitant to hold traditional wedding ceremonies. According to a survey, the rate of wedding ceremonies for people aged 40 and older is significantly lower than for younger couples. Many older couples feel it’s too late to hold a wedding, fearing they may seem “a little late” to their friends and family. However, some couples are choosing non-traditional venues and ceremonies that allow them to express gratitude to loved ones in a way that feels personal to them.
