New York City's Plaza Hotel closure leaves bride scrambling for new wedding venue

The Plaza Hotel in New York City plans to temporarily close for four years starting in January for a major restoration project. This news has left a bride-to-be, Christine Carney, scrambling to find a new wedding venue for her May 1, 2027, wedding. The hotel’s closure means that the venues, including the Palm Court and hotel event rooms, will also be unavailable during the construction period. Carney had been planning her wedding at the Plaza since last April and was caught off guard by the sudden announcement.
