A bride-to-be is scrambling to find a new wedding venue after learning that the Plaza Hotel in New York City will temporarily close for a major restoration project. The hotel was to be the site of Christine Carney’s wedding on May 1, 2027, and she had been planning the event there since April 2026. The closure is expected to last four years, and the hotel’s operator, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, says the restoration will include work on the building’s landmark facade.
